Not every training program is right for everyone. Here’s how to tell if StartSteps fits your situation.

StartSteps Is a Good Fit If…

StartSteps works well for people changing careers without a technical background. Many of our learners come from fields like administration, customer service, finance, logistics, retail, and education. Our programs are designed to build technical skills from scratch, without assuming specific prior knowledge.

It’s also a good fit if you want training that connects to real jobs. Our programs focus on SAP Finance, SAP EWM, ServiceNow and Cloud/Data Engineering —technologies that are consistently in demand across German companies. You’re not learning abstract concepts; you’re preparing for specific roles.

If you learn better in English, StartSteps may suit you well. Programs are conducted in English. For many learners, studying complex topics in their strongest language makes a real difference—you can focus on understanding the material rather than translating terminology.

StartSteps is designed for people in Germany who are eligible for a Bildungsgutschein. If you’re unemployed, job-seeking, or at risk of unemployment, you may qualify for a Bildungsgutschein that covers 100% of training costs. This removes the financial barrier.

And if you want structure rather than self-paced videos, our approach may be right for you. Our programs are instructor-led, full-time, and run for five months. You learn with teachers who can answer questions and provide feedback. This works well for people who benefit from guidance and accountability.

StartSteps Might Not Be a Good Fit If…

If you’re looking for part-time or evening courses, our programs may not work for you. They are full-time, requiring about 40 hours per week. If you need to work while studying, the schedule may not fit.

If you want to learn front-end web development or UX design, you’ll want to look elsewhere. We focus on enterprise technologies like SAP, ServiceNow, and AWS & Databricks. 

If you’re not in Germany or not eligible for the Bildungsgutschein, this isn’t the right path. Our programs are designed for the German market and funded through the Bildungsgutschein system. If you’re outside Germany or not eligible for funding, the programs aren’t accessible.

And if you prefer self-directed learning, a self-paced bootcamp might suit you better. If you work better alone, at your own pace, without scheduled instruction, our instructor-led format may feel too structured.

What Our Programs Include

Programs run five months, full-time, with instructor-led live training conducted in English. They include soft skills development covering communication, teamwork, and professional presence, plus career support through coaching and job matching via TalentStart. We also offer German courses directly following the technical training.

We offer SAP Finance Consultant, SAP EWM, ServiceNow System Administrator, and AWS & Databricks Cloud & Data Engineering programs.
